The final days before summer break: time to relax, but also to take stock. Thus, we say goodbye with this last newsletter before vacation, but we will be back with the new edition on 29 August. Warm wishes for a happy holiday from our editorial staff to all of you!
Connessioni’s staff is preparing for summer break, too: we will be closed from Saturday the 5th through Sunday the 20th of August, but you can continue to send us your news and ideas for upcoming content to the usual email address redazione@connessioni.biz. And, naturally, you can continue to read our previous issues and newsletters, whether in print or online at www.connessioni.biz.
Time to take stock, as the saying goes: the integrated systems and Pro-AV market seems to be living a significant evolution, on one end with the convergence of means and vocations (the prime example is the approach of the AV/IT worlds), on the other with the new balances in the industry, related to the numerous recent acquisitions, the latest of which is that of Legrand (and Samsung with Harman is not that far off, either). As always, we will do our best to record and tell you about these changes, seeking to predict future trends… In the meantime, we are working on the autumn issue, in which we will seek to give a voice to the new technologies and trends related to large-scale projection (which, as you will have noticed from the flourishing of the numerous exhibitions that make use of it, is increasingly related to art). It is a phenomenon that, in recent years, has given life to a generation of both visual artists and designers of integrated AV systems, so much so that the distinction between the two is sometimes no longer quite so clear. Are we perhaps facing the blurring of the barriers between art and technology, or just a partial redefinition of already-existing professionalism? What role does the integration of traditional media play in all this? In analyzing case studies, through interviews with both creators and installers, we will seek to explore the technical problems that this type of operations brings and the solutions carried out time after time by individual workers.
In autumn, in addition to our editorial activity, our events will start up again: from the Smart Environments Roadshow dedicated to connecting the worlds of systems integration and design, the AV industry and professional end users, to foreign fairs (India and Dubai), to jump already towards the next ISE, where we will be present with a new edition of AudioForum: it promises to be a return that is rich with excitement, it must be said. Keep following us, and a happy holiday to all!
