Held in Bologna on 20 June, the Smart Installer Forum, launched in 2015 by the Smart Building platform, achieved a great success both in terms of participation and content.
More than 200 technicians took part in the event, dedicated to future work prospects in the digital society. The Smart Installer program was launched in 2015 by the Smart Building platform with the aim of stimulating a process of updating the installation world, encouraging the penetration of smart technological innovations on the market. During the day many interventions were held on the future of telecommunications in relation to people’s lives and the evolution of installers’ work.
Central topics were the new television switch-off with the migration to the DVB-T2 transmission standard and the arrival of the 5G networks, the fifth generation of mobile telecommunications. Attention has also been paid to the growing IoT market.
Three levels of training are offered to the technicians: the entry level provides for the simple voluntary profiling and the verification of the starting skills; the second level is called Smart Installer and is accessed by owning or acquiring advanced skills through training; finally, the Smart Installer Premium level provides for joining a continuous training program.
The day was completed by the interventions of the partner companies of the event, in particular Linkem presented Live Protection, a new company with a focus on the development of the IoT consumer market and the Smart Home; Fibernet, together with the multi-service fiber optic plant Multifiber Building, has introduced a horizontal cabling solution, ideal for accommodation facilities such as resorts, villages and camping; Open Sky presented its novelties in satelite and fixed wireless connections and the Combo system for network integration and balancing, while Eolo announced waveG, the world’s first 28 GHz commercial network for 100 Mega connections and stations radio base (BTS) connected in optical fiber.
