“Connection” was, for D-Link, the key word of the Mobile World Congress 2018: in Barcelona, the company presented its latest solutions to interconnect people, businesses and cities.
D-Link develops network equipment, so the Barcelona Mobile World Congress is its natural environment. On the occasion of the last edition of the fair, held from February 26th to March 1st, D-Link has presented new devices and services for smart homes, smart cities and related companies 4.0. It ranges from the new switches to cloud-based IT management solutions and updates for existing devices. In particular, we would like to emphasize Nuclias, the new subscription-based D-Link solution for cloud network management that enables service providers and business owners to remotely configure and monitor their network infrastructures anywhere and at any time.
The Nuclias app and online portal offer a range of functions accessible at the touch of a button.
Also interesting are the new Gigabit solutions for mobile connectivity, which aim to offer seamless connectivity to consumers, companies and operators, and “reinforced” industrial switches for Smart City, Factory Automation and Industry 4.0 applications. The spotlight was on the DIS-100G series, entry-level Ethernet switches for industrial environments, with plug-and-play installation, and on the DIS-300G series, for industrial and smart city applications, including remote performance monitoring, detailed configuration of data flows and Quality of Service (QoS) for the priority of vital data. Finally, the DIS-700G industrial switch model has intelligent QoS functions to support traffic shaping and bandwidth management.
As far as upgrades, there is an important Software Defined Networking (SDN) update, free for the DGS-3000 (Access layer) and DGS-3630 (Aggregation layer) switches and all the new DXS/DQS-5000 data center switches. This update will offer up to 32 100GbE Ports for Top-of-Rack or End-of-Row applications.
We close with the mydlinkPro series, consisting of three new surveillance cameras, which work in collaboration with the new mydlink app.
The three cameras have different features in terms of applications, but all offer full HD 1080p resolution with IVA (Intelligent Video Analysis) functions, are weather resistant IP65 certified and can record on the cloud. The three models can be summarized as follows: DCS-8650LH is a 180° Dual Lens Full HD Wi-Fi Outdoor Camera; DCS-1820LM is a 4G LTE outdoor model, which recently won the iF Design Award in its category; finally, DCS-2802KT is a wireless outdoor camera kit.
