A few examples of how Audio Video can be used in unusual ways: we report on the experiences of KFI for the 4.0 shop, and of DIME – in collaboration with Axis – which has delivered a video surveillance solution to prevent urban decay.
If Systems Integration is increasingly an integral part of our lives, these two solutions prove it once again. Mixing the in-person shopping experience, with all its benefits related to product evaluation, with those of the e-commerce: the shop becomes 4.0, and physical and digital merge in the hybrid shop designed by KFI, which has developed a native Android solution capable of transforming the traditional shop into a space where the retail concept is combined with logistics, managing processes related to e-commerce.
The Lorikeet application solution thus makes it possible to combine purely logistical aspects with those typical of the point of sale, simplifying the tasks of the sales employee and facilitating back-office operations in the shop: from stocking to the search for an item, to its exit. In addition, thanks to augmented reality, and by reading a barcode and using a camera, it is possible to receive a lot of information: sizes, colours, materials and availability in stock or in other affiliated shops. Once the product has been identified, the KFI application allows the retailer to send it to the customer, or prepare it to be collected at the shop. The distance between physical and digital is then reduced to zero.
DIME is working in a completely different direction with ISeeYou, the video surveillance system created to meet the public administration’s need to prevent and combat urban decay, encourage virtuous behaviour and cover the costs of proper disposal of illegal waste. The fruitful collaboration between Axis and DIME brought an innovative integrated solution that allows remote video surveillance of a site or an asset: thanks to the continuous recording of images and the AOA deep learning module for object classification, which allows the recognition and classification of different types of vehicles passing on an urban street. All of this is GPDR-proof: DIME, in collaboration with the IT law consultancy COLIN, applies the Bureau Veritas certified method, whereby data protection, in a change of perspective, is required to be adopted right from the design phase of the solutions themselves. Last but not least, there is the respect and protection of workers’ rights. The entire ISeeYou product line is designed and manufactured in Italy in compliance with national labour regulations and contracts.
