The global company showcased at ISE 2017 new live production solutions now able to meet professionals’ needs in professional and broadcast application sectors
At ISE 2017 Blackmagic Design showcased its latest live production solutions, including a range designed for web streaming from live events, such as concerts, corporate seminars, weddings and HoW services, as well as for digital signage applications.
Among the latest product releases, presented to our editorial staff by Patrick Hussey, Head of Communication EMEA, is the Blackmagic HyperDeck Studio Mini is a miniaturized, professional quality recorder with dual SD card ports for non stop recording of all SD, HD and Ultra HD sources up to 2160p30. The unit has a built-in sync generator and also Ethernet connections to facilitate FTP uploads, making it perfect for digital signage usage. The advanced miniaturized design puts the powerful features of a professional grade deck into a compact size that’s only 5.5 inches wide and 1.5 inches tall. The design is based on the Teranex Mini form factor, making it modular so customers can mount HyperDeck Studio Mini using the optional Teranex Mini Rack Shelf and combine it with other products to create a customized deck, based on their workflow.
Designed for web streaming, the ATEM Television Studio HD is an 8 input live production mixer with professional features including camera control, integrated talkback, multiviewer, DVE and up and downstream keyers. The switcher is perfect for events such as weddings and corporate seminars. The Blackmagic HyperDeck Studio Mini and ATEM Television Studio HD fit together as a 1RU production unit, perfect for portable units for video production. There are two channels of analog audio in, RS-422, ethernet and a built in IEC power supply, along with program and auxiliary outputs. Customers also get both SDI and HDMI multi view outputs so they can monitor all sources, preview and program outputs, along with labels, audio meters and more, all on a single big screen television or broadcast monitor.
Another new introduction, the Blackmagic Web Presenter, a compact unit which takes HDMI and SDI sources and converts automatically, so that a computer recognizes the signal as 720p material from a USB-webcam. This means that any professional production can be converted and streamed at the best possible quality. The Web Presenter can also mix two live sources, so it can be used as a simple standalone live streaming production unit. As all streaming software works with webcams, Blackmagic Web Presenter also makes it easy to work with any streaming software, but with an higher quality. Streaming in 720p ensures customers get the quality of HD and a 16:9 aspect ratio, but with very low data rates so uplinking streams to the internet is easy from any computer.
