The announcement of the postponement of the InfoComm fair in October, precisely from the 23rd to the 29th, has already triggered thoughts, doubts but also answers, primarily that of ISE through the words of Mike Blackman, Managing Director of the event. But let’s go step by step …
Yesterday, within an hour, the two communications followed, the first of the postponement of InfoComm: although, as Labuskes CEO of AVIXA says, the association has maintained a positive attitude in the face of the difficulties of the pandemic, after consulting associates and partners has decided to postpone it, so as to be able to more easily achieve the objectives of the event and AVIXA itself, that is to be the hub of the AV community and act as a catalyst for the growth of the sector. Aware that this is equivalent to renouncing a consolidated appointment for development activities, AVIXA ensures that it will bridge the gap by offering more opportunities for training, meeting and development, and full support to ISE in Barcelona.
A decision also taken, we believe, considering the particular gravity of the pandemic impact on the US, a reflection made by ISE certainly, an event that probably has more support elements. After just an hour from the AVIXA press release, the ISE one came out which directly reports the words of Mike Blackman: the fair is confirmed from the 1st to 4th June and, although no one can say today how the situation will be at that moment, all the necessary precautions will be in place, from the preparation of specific protocols for visitors to those concerning the environment (Fira Barcelona has received the Safe Travel Stamp of the World Travel Tourism Council.) The press release also contains other important information: pre-registrations will be open next week, the fair will still take place in hybrid mode, i.e. in presence and / or virtual, and a deadline that we were all more or less waiting for: on 1st March we will know in what form ISE will take place, and how it will take place.
And it is fundamental news, given that the preparation of a fair like this involves a considerable economic commitment of time, and indeed not less than three months.
