VE901 is one of those products that make the difference, when they are present and when they aren’t, their absence is felt: a DisplayPort extender on HDBaseT with interesting and innovative features.
When describing the VE901, one wants to start not so much with its primary feature – signal extension – but its capability to work as a converter when using a transmitter and/or receiver of a different type (e.g. VE801)! It is possible to have DisplayPort input and a HDMI output, or vice versa, depending on the product combination. A nice additional feature that certainly is useful in many circumstances.
But the true “ID card” of the VE901, as a DisplayPort Extender on HDBaseT with 4K compatibility: is to extend 1080p DisplayPort visualization up to 70 meters over a single CAT 6/6a cable, while in the case of 4K resolution it can reach a distance of 40 meters. Essentially, this is a very simple and versatile solution for professional AV installations, especially when protection from interference of the video signal is required, such as in medical or military installations, for example.
Other distinguishing features, beyond the aforementioned additional function as a converter and its 4K support up to 40 meters, are: a sleek and light design, easy to install, and the slip-resistant DC jack lock mechanism. Further, the extender has a metal framework, which guarantees sturdiness, but the weight is rather well-contained (the receiver unit – VE901R – weighs 0,27 Kg, the transmitter – VE901T – an amazing 0,24 Kg!).
