The events industry is constantly transforming, and Prolight + Sound (19 to 22 March 2024) is the leading trade show for observing and driving innovation, inspiration and networking, a key international meeting place for event technology producers and creatives
There are already many companies that have confirmed their participation in the 2024 edition of Prolight + Sound, proving that the Frankfurt fair remains the international point of reference for the live events and sound & lighting industry. From concert stages to opera houses, from clubs to museums to theme parks or immersive audiovisual experiences, Prolight + Sound brings together the entire spectrum of technological innovations for events in its pavilions.
One of the highlights of the next edition will be the new Image Creation Hub: in collaboration with the Bundesverband der Fernsehkameraleute e.V. (the Federal Association of Television Camera Operators) a single section will be created for everything related to moving images, with a TV studio-style Speakers Area.
Another pillar of Prolight + Sound is the theater and stage technology sector. In the next edition, focus on the most interesting developments in the sector, including the increased use of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) in theater productions.
As regards audio technology, however, the ProAudio College, founded in April 2023 together with the Verband Deutscher Tonmeister e.V. (the German Association of Sound Engineers), will be updated and developed, and will be larger, more versatile, more international and with an extensive advanced training program dedicated to current trends in sound amplification, studio production innovations and exclusive training modules. In the Performance + Production Hub, however, product presentations and workshops with experts from well-known brands will alternate. Finally, in the Live Sound Arena, visitors will be able to experience the sound of PA systems in real conditions.
In line with its philosophy, however, the event confirms its green soul, placing an even greater emphasis on the themes of energy efficiency and sustainability in the next edition. The EVVC (European Association of Event Centers) will in fact hold specific Green Sessions to provide insights and ideas for a more sustainable and responsible events sector.
In short, as you may have guessed, it is impossible to account in the space available for all the points of interest and all the reasons why PL+S 2024 is an event not to be missed. New audio and lighting products, training, demonstrations in real environments, attention to environmental sustainability and young people: nothing will be missing in Frankfurt!
