Panasonic Business has chosen the ISE 2019 to announce, not only with the products but also with an articulated press conference, its laser transition in the high brightness projection and the expansion of the 4K display range.
“A very big, ambitious project”: this is how the decision to invest definitively on laser projection technology was defined during the press conference. The presentation of two new 4K laser projectors by Panasonic marks the definitive transition of the Japanese giant to laser projection technology. The “star” of this ISE 2019 for Panasonic is the new PT-RQ50K, which qualifies as the brightest projector in the Panasonic range with its 50.000 lumens in a single body. Thanks to the True 4K resolution and the implementation of separate red and blue SOLID SHINE laser phosphor units, this projector ensures a very high level of color reproduction. The launch of three new zero offset optics for the range of 1-chip and 3-chip DLP projectors further enhances the range’s versatility at live events and in immersive settings such as museums and theme parks. In fact, the new “L” design allows to eliminate the problem of the screen offset, associated with the projection of images at reduced distances.
The other big news for immersive environments is the 1-chip PT-RQ100 DLP projector, which boasts a brightness of 10.000 lumens and a new color management technology. This projector has been specially designed to develop and improve the visitors’ experience in exhibitions and museums, as well as artistic installations with a great impact. In this model, pixel-shifting technology achieves UHD resolution (Ultra High Definition, 3840×2400) and the Color Harmonizer functionality expands the possibilities of color reproduction. In addition, the projector, as is typical of laser models, guarantees 20.000 hours of operation without the need for maintenance.
But Panasonic at ISE 2019 is not just projection, as well illustrated by the large press conference of 5 February. In the field of education, for example, solutions were presented for the “Scale-Up Classroom”, to bring the students back to the center of the teaching experience. The modern classroom according to Panasonic provides both collaborative technologies signed by the Japanese house, and third-party functionality. In practice, several 43” interactive and capacitive touchscreen displays and several PTZ cameras are connected via a single LAN cable to the Panasonic projector.
There is also no lack of news regarding videowall and display: two new panels, in fact, have been added to Panasonic’s range of professional LCD displays. The new TH-55VF2 has a particularly thin frame of just 0.88 mm. The utility of this display is obvious even for multi-screen installations. The other new model presented in the LVF series (TH-55LFV9) also shines with elegance in its design, with a frame thickness of only 3.5 mm.
Ten are the new panels introduced by Panasonic in its range of 4K displays, which therefore includes 18 different models. Four new displays from 43” to 65” expand the high-end SQ1 series (thin screens of 500 cd/m2), adding to the existing 98” and 86” ones. The new CQ1 entry-level display series has also been integrated with six new models and now covers formats from 43” to 86”, with a brightness of 400 cd/m2 and continuous daily operation of 16 hours.
Finally, the Broadcast and ProAV sector also deserves a mention, with the presentation of the new AW-UE150, an integrated PTZ camera ready for 4K@60p, a true innovation in live production, accompanied by the AW-RP150 remote controller, equipped with a large LCD screen for monitoring and menu settings.
