Our column once again turns to events in the Asian AV market, with official data from InfoComm India and some previews of the upcoming edition in Beijing, which will take place from 10 to 12 April 2019.
More than two weeks have passed since the close of InfoComm India and our last piece on the topic, freshly written after our return from the event. In the meanwhile, the official data have been released and they confirm the positive trend in one of the fastest growing areas on the planet: over 10,000 visitors were in attendance, a significant increase compared to 2017, while there were more than 200 exhibitors from more than 20 countries. We observed the fair’s growing maturity compared to prior editions, visible through the greater investments that were put into taking care of the booths, which were at the level of shows in well-established markets such as in Europe or the United States; greater attention to the training offering (45 free seminars were offered through the AVIXA Academy) and visitors’ curiosity for the fair’s novelties, including some “flagship” items such as the first 8K technology projector in the world.
For those who are instead attentively watching China, we note the dates of InfoComm China in Beijing, which will celebrate its 14th edition in 2019. The mirror of a country that has now become the second largest economy in the world and which is singularly responsible for catalyzing 53% of the sector’s value in the Asia-Pacific Region, in 2018 InfoComm China welcomed more than 350 exhibitors and 40,000 visitors, both technical ones (designers and systems integrators) and those coming from vertical markets, first and foremost Corporate. An opportunity for Italian (and European) companies that wish to enter this country that has become a true, lively market and no longer (only, but nevertheless still less) a supplier of components and good manufactured at a low cost.
We will be bringing you further information in our column dedicated to Asia with the progression of the organization process.
