Seven multi-format inputs (5 HDMI, 1 DisplayPort and 1 VGA), two HDMI outputs and 1 high definition HDBaseT output: according to Aten, 7 x 3 is not 21, but … VP2730!
The best possible definition for Aten’s VP2730 is “multi-in-one switcher”: it’s in fact a product that integrates, in a single compact case, switch and video matrix functions with scaler, streaming, audio mixer, HDBaseT extender and analog-digital conversion.
Thanks to advanced audio management, and simplifying AV integration, the VP2730 eliminates the need for several components and aims to facilitate the remotely content sharing. With seven multi-format inputs and three outputs (two HDMI and one high-definition HDBaseT), the VP2730 expands the meeting horizon, simplifies collaboration in meetings with several remote participants and is perfect for environments such as conference rooms, university classrooms and meeting rooms of various sizes. The integrated scaler and the instant switching make the VP2730 an ideal solution for installations where it’s important to keep the public’s attention high, by eliminating the downtime of normal switching matrices.
Designed for easy and immediate use, the VP2730 offers a particularly accessible OSD menu and a Web GUI that facilitates use by both local and remote users. The multiple control options (which also include IR and RS-232 remote control) are obviously the basis for integration with control systems such as the Aten’s VK, whether in the VK1100 and VK2100 complete versions or in the new keypad with integrated controller VK0200.
Easier videoconferences
One of VP2730’s strengths is the ability to improve the experience of remote meeting and content sharing: in fact, it not only allows the moderator to share video content (with 1080p@60Hz quality through HDMI/DisplayPort) up to five different remote destinations, but also allows those who work from remote offices or local participants to stream their content for discussion (always with resolution up to 1080p).
The moderator is able to monitor everything and switch from one source to another in a wide variety of screen configurations, from dual display to three, four or PiP (Picture in Picture) mode, which allows you to simultaneously view on the screen up to six different sources.
But VP2730 also offers more advanced meeting management functions: for example, with Moderator Mode it’s possible to control other displays via the host display. Other interesting features include Chat Room function, which facilitates communication during the meeting, Screen Capture function, which allows you to capture with a simple click any element that appears on the screen, and Freeze function, which allows you to freeze the screen for the discussion or to monitor the flow of the meeting.
